Picnic in the Square June 19th.

We are planning to meet in FINSBURY CIRCUS, where we met last August, at 14.30 on Saturday June 19th.  There is cover under the bandstand if necessary but hopefully it will be a gorgeous summer day and there will be a small amount of wine and nibbles to share.  Please feel free to bring on your own picnic etc. We are hoping for a good turnout as it is a long time since we have seen each other, the meetings last August proved very popular but unfortunately we haven’t been able meet during the winter.

May update.

The Leather Social will take place OUTSIDE Comptons on May 2nd. 17:15. Very limited number of tables and wear thermals under those leathers!

Whatever happened to March and April… Was there another Lockdown? Take care and get that little prick, in your arm of course!

Leather Social/48th. Birthday.

It’s that time again: the First Sunday of the month and Leather Social on Zoom! You know the format, details below on another posting.

The other bit of news, from our President:

Dear Members and friends
I hope you are all well and managing with this endless Lockdown. Many of you have told me that they have had the first vaccine and now we are just waiting for news of the 2nd dose.

It is already March and we should be gearing up for our normal AGM. As many of you will have realised now than the Government has published its roadmap even our revised May date will mean we are restricted to at best 6 people indoors.
After much debate the Committee have decide to postpone the AGM right back to October 16th – our Birthday weekend. It has been registered as our ECMC event for 2021.  There is still so much uncertainty around we thought it better to put it right back.

We do plan to get together with as many members as possible when we can but feel that it is safer to plan outdoor events. The weekend inMay (22/23rd) when we hoped to do the AGM has been pencilled in as the first date to meet up for a picnic in Finsbury Circus as we did so successfully last August. We can only confirm this much nearer the time but with a simple event like that its easy to change at short notice taking into account the regulations and weather.
Any members who have ideas and suggestion for other outdoor gatherings we can try in the 3rd quarter please let us know.

Take care.

Sunday Picnic 2

Following the success of the previous ‘picnic’ we’ll be doing it again – on Sunday 13th September in Finsbury Circus, EC2. The weather forecast is good and this might be the last chance to meet as a group for a while due to the latest Government guidelines on numbers able to meet, look out for us near to the bandstand where there are plenty of benches for socially-distanced seating from 14:30. The nearest public transport is either Liverpool Street mainline, Moorgate Underground or the choice of several bus routes along Moorgate. There is also plenty of Bike parking. Bring along something to eat and something to drink from – some liquid refreshment will be available.

Hopefully there will be another dose of entertainment from the local Shakespeare group who were rehearsing The Tempest the last time we were there!

SUNDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER @ 14:30 FINSBURY CIRCUS

COVID-19

Due to the current health crisis and as a precaution against its spread we have agreed JULY 4TH as the new date for the AGM and Annual Dinner. It is booked with the Punch Tavern and will be the same time,  menu and price. The Agenda and minutes of the 2019 meeting can still be accessed in the posting below.

We hope that the situation will have calmed by then and the summer temperatures will have lessened the impact. If we need to postpone again we will move to October 17th (our Birthday weekend). In any case please keep October 17th free in your diaries as we will plan a meal and other meetings then anyway.
Many of you have written today with your understanding and support. With the current Treasurer continuing to act any bookings can be assured that the money paid for the meal is safe. If you definitely cannot make July 4th (one week after London Pride if it goes ahead) then we will issue a refund.
